Congratulations to the following athletes who will represent WA against Singapore and Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur in July:
Equipment Busy Bee - Sunday 19 May
We are having an equipment busy bee at the Clubrooms and Container this Sunday 19 May from 2:30pm. Come one down and spend a couple of hours helping us sort through and inventory our equipment. If you are able to help please contact John Cowan on 0400 133 016.
Winter Program and first Cross-Country Event
The Winter Program is now available on the website. It has a list of all the Cross-Country events for the winter season. The first cross-country race is on Saturday April 20 at Bungendore Park, Bedfordale beginning at 1pm.
Clubrooms Committee: calling for nominations!
The Clubrooms is run by a Committee with representatives from Joondalup Netball, Joondalup Brothers Rugby Union, Joondalup Giants Rugby League, and ourselves. We have two representatives on the Clubrooms Committee and we are now calling for nominations to be the JLAC representatives. If you are interested, please complete the nomination form and email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Committee meets once a month and is responsible for the running of the Clubrooms. The Annual General Meeting for the Clubrooms is next Wednesday 17 April at the Clubrooms at 7pm.
Clubrooms Bar Open Weeknights
The Clubrooms Bar and Canteen is now open every weeknight from Monday through to Friday from 4.30pm til 9.30pm. So come on in and grab yourself a drink, hot coffee, soft drink or something to eat. On Monday nights we are also selling Hot Dogs for only $2.00 or a Combo Hot Dog and Soft Drink (or coffee) for just $3.50. Open for Members and their guests.

State Championships Medal Winners
We had a great State Track and Field Championships over the weekend, with many Joondalup athletes setting PBs. Our athletes won 25 medals; congratulations to these athletes for their great achievement:
Winter Cross-Country Season

Agenda for Annual General Meeting
The Agenda for Sunday's Centre Annual General Meeting and Trophy Presentation has been finalised. The Annual Reports from Committee Members and the Treasurer's Report are now also available.
Zones Results and Training for States
Congratulations to all those athletes who participated at Zones over the weekend. It was amazing to see how well our athletes did, and as a 'medium-size' Centre compared to big centres such as UWA and Hamersley we certainly had more than our fair share of great performances.
We have received the provisional results and expect to get the confirmation of States Qualifiers in the next day or so. For those athletes in the Under 10 and up who are going on to States, training continues this week at the same venues you have been using for the past few weeks: Kinross is at Santiago Park and Centre-based training, open to all, is at Mater Dei College.

Motion on Clubs to be put at Annual General Meeting
At the Annual General Meeting on Sunday 17 March, a motion on the amalgamation of Affiliated Clubs into the Joondalup Little Athletics Centre will be put by Phil Bossert, Beaumaris Club and Leigh Fearnall, Connolly Club. The motion was discussed and voted on at the JLAC General Meeting on Monday 4 March and was unanimously accepted by the Meeting.
Centre Executive Committee Resignations
Four Executive Committee members have decided not to re-nominate for their positions at the Annual General Meeting on Sunday 17 March:
Combined these parents have given literally thousands of hours of their unpaid time to our Centre to help make the sport of Little Athletics enjoyable for our children. We thank them for their involvement and wish them well in the future.
Tell us what you think - Survey available
Our annual survey of members is now available online. Please take 5 minutes to fill in the survey. The results will be used in the planning for next summer's season.
The results of the survey are also available online and are updated in real time.
Rosters for Zones now available
Parent help rosters for Zones are now available. Each family needs to complete at least one half-day roster. Rosters can be done by anyone over 16 (so long as they are not competing at Zones).
Please volunteer for your roster by Tuesday 5 March, or you will be allocated a roster.

Results and Record Breakers
Coaching Clinics for 12-17 year olds
Atheletics WA are running a series of coaching clinics at the WA AThletics STadium on the next two Friday nights for older athletes who are starting to transition from Little Athletics to Senior Athletics (12-17 year olds). The Clinic are:
Athletes can bring their coaches along. Athletes may compete in that discipline on that night at the Strive competition.

Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the Joondalup Little Athletics Centre will be held at the Clubrooms on Sunday 17 March beginning at 10:00am. Immediately following the AGM will be the Centre Trophy Presentations.
Executive Committee Elections
As per the Centre Constitution, all Executive Committee positions will be declared vacant at this meeting, and elections held to fill these positions for a one year term.
Please consider nominating for the Committee -- it is one of the best ways to support the Centre! For more information see the Committee Elections page.
Agenda and Motions for the AGM
As per the JLAC Constitution, the following agenda outline will be used for the Annual General Meeting:
Any agenda items/motions must be sent to the Secretary, Karen Peters (email@example.com) at least seven days before the Annual General Meeting (ie, before Sunday 10 March 2013). They will then published on the JLAC website.
Training Arrangements at Mater Dei
From this Tuesday 19 February training moves from the Arena Joondalup to Mater Dei College, 107 Treetop Ave, Edgewater.
All JLAC athletes are welcome to Centre-based training, although the focus of the training will be on those athletes going to Zones and States.
With the change of venues there are some changes to the training timetable:
On Saturday 23 February and 2 March there will be additional coaching from 9:00:
Remember: Event-based training is open to all Under 13 and up athletes.

Arena Joondalup Shut-Out
Due to the Future Music 2013 Concert at the Arena in March, Joondalup Little Athletics will lose access to the Arena Athletics Oval after Championship Day B on Saturday 16 February.
We will be moving our training to Mater Dei College, 107 Treetop Ave, Edgewater from Tuesday 19 February.
Instead of competition, on Saturday 23 February and Saturday 2 March we will be running extended training sessions at Mater Dei College.
Training will be focussed on those athletes going to Zones/States and will continue at Mater Dei College until the State Championships.
Championship Day B on Saturday 16 February will be our last Joondalup Competition Day for 2012/13. The last two competition days of the summer will be the Zones Meet (Saturday and Sunday 9/10 March at McGillivray Oval, Mt Claremont) and State Championships (Saturday and Sunday 23/24 March at the Stadium).
State Multi-Event Championships, Sunday 10 February
Congratulations to Ciara Faichney, Under 12 Girls, Isabel Daines, Under 11 Girls, who both won Silver at the State Multi-Event Championships on Sunday!
Under 11 Girls at State Multis: Joondalup had four girls finish in the top 16: Isabel Daines, Caitlin Moore, Brooke Coutts and Martina Bossert.
